Interview by Peg Glisson

“When I reached Ann Hassett, she was at her desk in a small K-8 school in Maine, easing back into the opening of the school year…” To read the rest of this interview, click here!

And in other exciting news, this review of “Come Back Ben” is from School Library Journal:

“PreS-Gr 1–This terrific beginning reader is imaginative, funny, and charming. The text is predictable and accessible, and the cut-paper and ink art matches it perfectly. Children will want to read this one again and again. A must-have for both classrooms and libraries.–Joan Kindig, James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VAα(c) Copyright 2013.”

    Good afternoon,

I found your contact name either on the Mainewriters.org site or the Maine State Authors Index.

I have been working to help my local school library, Cony Middle and High School in Augusta, Maine, for the past three years. I took a recent tour of the library only to discover a serious lack of books by Maine authors. Embarrassing!!! The library and I would like to create a dedicated section celebrating Maine authors any any achievements they wish to share.

What I am looking for is:

    – Photo of the author, autograph, a biography, any special achievements (anything you are willing to share, all these to be placed in a special album for reference)

    – A list of written works (even children’s books) so I may begin purchasing them
as my finances allow. The library prefers hardcover whenever possible for durability purposes, but I resort to paperback when necessary.

My motivation is my desire to help a library that has assisted my son enormously on a
social level – and the library has been assisting other students with self-esteem as well. Any and all materials will not only benefit the Cony library, but endless other Maine schools and programs all over the state who routinely turn to Cony to borrow literary resources.

The library and I would genuinely appreciate any materials or information you may
provide. If you have questions or comments, I may be reached most easily at cnicolosi@adelphia.net, (207) 509-5840, or by mail at 26 Kenneth Street, Augusta, Maine
    04330.

    Sincerest regards,

    Cheri Nicolosi
